Mine didn't do that.
but, I got a really bad bump on the back, its almost gone now though.
My piercer used clamps, but it didn't leave a mark, at all.

**** that looks like the piercer locked the clamp down on you instead of using a rubberband to hold it
i would stay away from that piercer from now on
